I just came out of heavily regulated industry and I can’t understand why do taxi drivers need to be subject to extensive regulation but the oil industry can self-regulate while so many people suffer the consequences of their bad decisions. How would the oil industry executives like it if the FDA, HHS and other regulatory bodies let the food and medical industry regulate themselves? They would then be part of the public outrage.
